Young men face court following Cabramatta robbery

Two 21-year-old men will face court following an alleged robbery and police pursuit at Cabramatta on Tuesday night.

Just after 6.30pm, a 22-year-old man was walking along McBurney Road when it is alleged two men approached and assaulted the man.

He fell to the ground and the men demanded he hand over his money.

The 22-year-old man handed over a small amount of cash and the other two men ran towards Hill Street.

Police patrolling nearby noticed the men running towards a car in Equity Place.

Police initiated a pursuit and the car eventually stopped in Cambridge Street.

The two men were arrested and taken to Cabramatta Police station.

One of the men was charged with robbery in company, drive manner/speed dangerous, custody of a knife in a public place and police pursuit not stop – drive dangerously.

He was refused bail and is expected to appear in Liverpool Local Court today.

The other 21-year-old man was charged with robbery in company and was granted bail to appear in Campbelltown Local Court on July 9.
