STUDENTS at an Abbotsbury dance studio will wear their pyjamas next week to raise funds for people struggling with homelessness.

It is part of the 26th annual Mission Australia Winter Sleepout, and Studio 01 co-owner Talia Fry said she wanted her students to understand the importance of the problem in Australia.

"We want our students to realise and appreciate how lucky we are and that we also have family and friends who support and love us," Miss Fry said.

"We hope that by supporting Mission Australia's Winter Sleepout, Studio 01 can help make a change to someone's life this coming winter.

"We decided the sleepout could be really exciting if we threw a pyjama week where all classes would dress up in their favourite pyjamas and donate to this great cause."

She said the studio staff wanted to raise as much as they could.

"We create an atmosphere where every child is comfortable in their own skin," Miss Fry said.

"We are a family-run studio that has built a special community of families within the studio."
