THE Penrith Panthers have broken their win-loss cycle in style by defeating the Canberra Raiders 26-20 at the weekend.
It was the team's first consecutive win of the season and propels the Panthers inside the top four heading into their first bye of the season.
Coach Ivan Cleary said that to get consecutive wins on the road was a morale boost for the team.
"To win at Newcastle and at Canberra in consecutive week is a fair achievement," Cleary said.
"It definitely gives us a bit of confidence to win on the road and we're looking forward to getting back at home to play Parramatta after the bye."
The Panthers are on third place on the ladder with six wins and four losses.
Their next game is against Parramatta on Friday, May 30 at Sportingbet Stadium.
