DELEGATES of the Japanese Parliament visited the Fairfield electorate last month as part of an ongoing political exchange program.

Fairfield MP Guy Zangari hosted a morning tea for the delegates and representatives of the Australian Political Exchange Council (APEC).

The group discussed topics including NSW Parliament, NSW politics and electorate issues, as well as the multicultural diversity of Australian society.

Mr Zangari said it was the 13th Japanese delegation to visit Australia.

"I've been advised the delegates thoroughly enjoyed their stay in Australia and they garnered newfound knowledge from their experiences and time spent here," he said.

"It was an insightful experience to explore the differences and similarities between our two countries.

"It was also amazing to note the differences between how our governments operate and the significant differences between both of our societies."

The Japanese delegation travelled from Sydney to Canberra before heading to Adelaide and then returning home.
