Toongabbie's Gary Womsley set for stomp

Both the SCG and Allianz Stadium will be seen in a whole new light by one Toongabbie resident.

Gary Womsley is putting his endurance to the test by participating in the Inaugural Stadium Stomp at the two sporting grounds on July 27.

"I'm really keen to see the stadiums in a whole new way," Womsley said.

The unique course involves 4750 stairs of all different gradients, heights and widths testing both the mind and body during the challenge.

The course will finish off with a lap of both the SCG and Allianz Stadium grounds.

It will take competitors anywhere between 40 and 70 minutes to complete, event co-ordinators say.

"I used to go the the SCG when it was the grounds for the rugby league when I was a small child," he said

"It will be fantastic to finally explore all the parts of the stadium."

Womsley has completed the Sydney Tower Run six times.

"I find running really healthy and generally just a fun thing to do," he said.

The 50-year old competes most weekends and trains using a combination of hills and sprints.
