Bonnyrigg service station robbed

Police are investigating after a service station in Bonnyrigg was robbed early this morning.

A man entered the service station on Cabramatta Road about 4am on Tuesday.

It’s alleged while the man was buying a soft drink, he sprayed an unknown substance in the console operator’s face, causing his eyes to sting.

He demanded cash, and began pulling on the till until it fell on the ground.

The man then made off with money and a bottle of soft drink.

Fairfield police were called and arrived a short time later; securing a crime scene that was examined by forensic specialists.

The console operator did not seek medical attention.

Investigators would like to speak to a man described as being of Asian appearance, with a medium build.

He was wearing a green fluorescent work shirt under a grey hooded jacket and dark pants at the time.

Police are urging anyone with information about this incident to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or use the online reporting page: https://www1.police.nsw.gov.au/.
