Clandestine laboratory found in Fairfield

Police are conducting investigations after a clan-lab was discovered following a fire at a house in Fairfield yesterday.

About 7:50pm, emergency services were called to a house on Cathcart Street following reports of a fire.

Officers from Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished the blaze and located a clandestine laboratory in part of the house.

A family who rents an adjoining part of the premises was not injured in the fire.

A crime scene was established at the premises and will be examined by specialist forensic officers and officers from the State Crime Command’s Drug Squad.

Police from Fairfield Local Area Command are continuing their investigations and are looking for the occupant of the house.

He is described as being Asian in appearance and aged in his 40s.

They have also been told a white Toyota was seen leaving the premises shortly after the fire broke out.
