Teens sexually assaulted at Fairfield Park

FAIRFIELD Police are searching for three men who sexually assaulted two schoolgirls in broad daylight at Fairfield Park yesterday.

Police said the 16-year-old girls met the boys on a train from Blacktown after they had skipped school to go shopping in Castle Hill.

Detective Superintendent Peter Lennon said the girls asked the men for directions and were promised to be taken to a bus terminal.

Instead, they were ‘‘coaxed’’ by the trio into going to Fairfield.

The group walked to Fairfield Park at about 2pm, where it’s alleged the sexual assaults took place.

‘‘It’s a very brazen attack. It’s something that is absolutely unforgivable in the local area,’’ Det-Supt Lennon said.

‘‘Their just young girls that were trying to make their way to Castle Hill and got convinced to come via Fairfield.

‘‘It’s pretty sad that this sort of thing is going on.’’

The girls were taken to hospital for medical examinations but have since been released.Det-Supt Lennon said Fairfield police were working with government agencies and private organisations to gather CCTV footage.

‘‘They are obviously very emotionally upset. They were treated at hospital last night and provided with ongoing counselling and we will be talking with them again today,’’ he said.

The three males are described as being Mediterranean/Middle Eastern in appearance.Police said the first male is described as being aged between 19 and 21 with a dark complexion, about 178cm tall, and with a thin build and dark hair.

The second male is thought to be about 175cm tall with a thin build and black hair.

The third male is possibly aged between 17 and 19 with a medium build and about 175cm tall.

One of the attackers was wearing a white shirt with army cargo pants while another was wearing a white shirt with tanned coloured trousers.Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
