Motorbike in police chase South Granville

A motorbike rider was charged after a police pursuit in South Granville early this morning.

About 12.10am, Rosehill police were patrolling Mona St and saw a small black motorbike travelling without a headlight on.

Police signaled for the motorbike to stop, which it allegedly failed to do.

A pursuit was initiated and ended at the end of Heath St, where the rider allegedly ran away from police.

Officers pursued the rider on foot with the assistance of the dog unit.

A short time later the man, a 24-year-old, was caught and arrested at the rear of a house on The Trongate, Granville.

He was taken to Parramatta police station and charged with drive/ride whilst disqualified, driving in a manner dangerous, using an unregistered and uninsured vehicle and enter enclosed land.

The man was refused bail and faced court today.
