PAYING tribute to the legends and the game of rugby league is the focus of the annual NRL Heritage Round.
Men of League Foundation is the only charitable organisation to support the rugby league community in Australia, and they are celebrating the annual Heritage Round again in 2014.
"Men of League Heritage Round is a great way to celebrate the game's rich history as well as raise awareness of our work and contribution to the rugby league community," Men of League chairman Ron Coote said. "Men of League is about helping out our mates and providing support and welfare to anyone in the rugby league community who needs a hand, 365 days a year.
"We are calling on the passionate rugby league community to rally behind Heritage Round this weekend, celebrating the great times, the legends , past and present, as well as the mascots, mums and dads, referees, commentators, canteen volunteers and more, who each make rugby league the game we love today."
To support Men of League during Heritage Round, the public can purchase a limited edition commemorative medallion for $99 from the Men of League website, make a donation to the Men of League volunteers collecting at games or become a member.
Since the foundation formed in 2002, it has grown to be one of the largest charitable organisations of its kind in the world, with more than 25,000 members and 43 local committees across Australia.
