FAIRFIELD Council has teamed with Community First Step to hold the Prairiewood Youth Cup on Friday, April 4, as part of several local Youth Week events.
The cup will be held at Prairiewood High School and involve more than 150 young people.
Community First Step youth caseworker Emma Woods said players would get a T-shirt, team trophy and there would be a sausage sizzle at the event.
"The Prairiewood Youth Cup will run throughout lunch until the end of the day for young people at the school," she said. "It's a knockout World Cup-themed soccer competition consisting of 14 teams, mixed boys and girls."
She said it also showed that organisations are willing take the time to focus on young people.
"It will show there are services in the local area which are happy to provide support to young people," she said.
Also as a part of Youth Week Street University, Flamez HairDezign and Mounties' Coffee Club are providing young people with personal grooming tips and hair-styling to enhance their professional appearance.
The event will be at Mounties Club on Thursday, April 3.
