CHRISTOPHER Gerace is making every moment count in his two sports.
The Abbotsbury boy is a top junior athletics runner and soccer player.
"I love both athletics and soccer," Christopher, 12, said.
"I haven't had to choose between either sport, it's good I get to do both."
His seasons don't really clash.
Athletics season runs from September to mid-March.
His representative soccer season with Bonnyrigg White Eagles under-13s youth league team started two weeks ago and continues until August.
Christopher only started athletics last September.
He started with a bang representing the NSW Primary Schools Sports Association team winning gold medals in the 100 metres and 200 metres sprints in the 12 years' age group at the School Sports Australia titles in Brisbane.
He didn't have a coach at the time, but experienced mentor Gavin Beahan has now taken on the role.
Then at the recent NSW junior championships, the Freeman Catholic College, Bonnyrigg Heights, year 7 student, won the men's under-14s, 200 metres event in 25.16 seconds.
Christopher also won a silver medal in the men's under-14s, 100 metres in 12.79 seconds. These performances saw him qualify for the Australian Junior Championships at Sydney Olympic Park. Christopher won bronze finishing third in the men's under-14s event.
He was also second in the men's under-14s 100 metres.
"That's it for the athletics season, it's soccer from now on," Christopher said.
