ORIGINS Forced Adoption Support Network has opened a new office in The Crescent, Fairfield.
This non-profit organisation has operated in the area for 17 years and helps and reunites people affected by forced adoption.
The new office provides a place where its library and welfare services can be accessed by the wider community.
Lily Arthur, Origins co-ordinator and co-chairwoman of the National Stolen Generations Alliance, said the new office was "needed more so now than ever before".
"There has been a lot of awareness being raised, especially since the three national apologies," she said. "The grand opening event we holding on Friday will coincide with the one-year anniversary of the apology to those affected by past forced adoption.
"We decided to open on that day to those who took comfort in the apology.
"It's our way to celebrate a day that is not publicly recognised."
The event will start at the office at 11am on Friday with a traditional smoking ceremony.
"People can inspect our research, ask questions and get more information about our work," Ms Arthur said. "We are also a charity organisation and we accept donations. The money would be used to maintain delivering our services to the public. We provide our services free of charge."
