NATIONAL Premier Leagues NSW Men's 1 champions Sydney United 58 FC host the 2014 Friendship Cup at Sydney United Sports Centre against traditional rivals Melbourne Knights on Sunday, March 9, at 3pm.

United won the inaugural Football NSW premiership last season under coach Mark Rudan.

Rudan and his team have been hard at work in the off-season preparing for the Football NSW premiership which starts on Saturday, March 15.

The clash with Melbourne Knights is expected to be a tough encounter at the Edensor Park ground.

The Knights were second in last year's Victoria's Premier League.

In the curtain-raiser game, on Sunday, March 9, United's under-20's team plays Wollongong Croatia at 12.45pm. Football NSW media manager Mark Stavroulakis said the match promises to be top quality action for the fans.

Bonnyrigg White Eagles and Marconi Stallions are the two other Fairfield district-based teams in the Football NSW premier league competition.

The season draw has been released. In round one, 2014 grand final winners Bonnyrigg White Eagles meeting Rockdale City Suns at Bonnyrigg Sports Centre on Saturday, March 15, at 7.30pm.

Marconi Stallions play Manly United at Marconi Stadium on Saturday, March 15, at 7.30pm.

Sydney United 58 FC play Sydney Olympic at Sydney United Sports Centre, on Sunday, March 16, at 3pm.
