Police search for man accused of performing lewd act near Cabramatta school

Police are appealing for information to identify a man allegedly seen performing a lewd act near a school at Cabramatta on Friday.

Officers said a member of the public was on Gilmore Street about 2pm a when they reported seeing a man standing by a parked car and performing a sexual act.

The man then fled the scene east along Phelps Street before turning into Bartley Street, Canley Vale.

Cabramatta police were called to the scene and conducted a search of the area but were unable to locate the man.

Investigators have now released a photo of a man who they believe may be able to assist with inquiries.

The man depicted in the image is described as being of Asian appearance, 170 centimetres tall with a thin build, wearing a bright orange t-shirt, shorts and riding a mountain bike.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information about the identity and whereabouts of the man depicted in the photograph is asked to contact Cabramatta Police.
