FAIRFIELD Council is calling on residents to spare a thought for their environment.
It has partnered with Clean Up Australia to stress the importance of the annual clean-up day, which sees Australians from all walks of life grab their gloves and garbage bags and tidy up their towns.
This year Clean Up Australia Day will be held on Sunday, March 2.
Fairfield mayor Frank Carbone said he was pleased to see more than 10 sites registered (including schools and the community) for the week surrounding the official clean-up day.
"I strongly encourage our residents to take part in the Clean Up Australia Day and make our city a healthier, cleaner place to live, work and play," he said.
