Roar's loss builds Wanderers' hope

THE Western Sydney Wanderers are still in the hunt for the A-League Premiers Plate, after ladder pacesetters Brisbane Roar suffered a shock 1-0 loss on the weekend.

The Roar were ambushed at home by the Newcastle Jets and did not extend their lead of seven points.

The Wanderers, who had a game in hand and sat out the round 19 games along with the Victory.

The Wanderers will now believe they can still overtake the Roar in the final eight rounds.

Their title chase starts this Saturday night in Perth, where they will take on the Glory, unlucky losers to Sydney FC on Saturday.
