Three teams are in the semis

FAIRFIELD Phoenix Baseball Club have three teams in the semi-finals of the summer season Sydney Metro competitions.

Phoenix president Daryl West said the men's third- and fourth-division teams and women's open team were in the finals.

"The women's team play their semi-final on Friday," he said.

"The third-grade men's team are leading their competition and the fourth-division men's team is third."

West said the men's competition finals games will start on Saturday, February 22, with the finals on Saturday, March 1 and grand finals on Saturday, March 8.

"It's been a good season for the club," he said.

The club also fielded two other men's teams in first and second division but they are out of the finals race.

And the Phoenix also has two junior teams, the under-8s and under-12s.

"We've a built a good foundation this season."

West said the club is also hosting the Bankstown district under-8s gala day at their home ground Fairfield Park on Saturday, February 15, from 8.30am.

"That'll be an exciting day's baseball. There are six teams playing. Each game is 45 minutes duration."

West said the winter season starts in late March and plans and registrations under way.
