Cabra hosts nines

Cabramatta Rugby League Club's International Nines tournament will be played at New Era Stadium, Cabramatta, on Saturday from 9am. The annual event involves 30 teams, including a New Guinean development side set to join Japan, Fiji , Cook Islands and the Philippines. The international teams have a mix of Australian residents and overseas players.

NSW reps

St Johns Bowling Club has a strong representation in the NSW fours' teams at this week's State of Origin series against Queensland at Port Macquarie. Mark Berghofer and Ben Twist are in the men's team. Sharyn Renshaw, Beth Quinlan, Kelsey Cottrell, Anne Johns, and Arleen Jefferies are in the women's team.

Roared down

Western Sydney Wanderers women's team lost 3-2 to Brisbane Roar on Friday. The Wanderers next play Sydney FC in the local derby at Campbelltown Sports Stadium on Sunday at 3pm.

lWilliams tops

Mitchell Williams, of Cecil Hills, top-scored for Fairfield Liverpool first grade in their one-day game win over Randwick Petersham at Rosedale Oval on Saturday.
