Night of free food and fun

CANLEY Heights Town Centre is holding a fun-filled pre-Australia Day event on Saturday, January 25, from 4pm to 9pm.

Local restaurants and businesses will provide free food samples to event-goers until 6pm.

This will include free burgers, juices, water, fairy floss, popcorn and more.

There will also be a jumping castle, face painting and balloon animals available for children during this time.

At night, there will be performances by local artists, spoken in English and Vietnamese, and a live Parkour demonstration by local Australia's Got Talent group 9 Lives.

Traditional Lion Dancing and Dragon performances will be held from 8pm, featuring seven and 10-metre dragons manned by 12-15 people.

This will be followed by fireworks at 9pm, which will run for about 25 minutes.

The event's organiser James Tran said the main aim of the night was to provide a free event for the community to experience.

"It will be a fun-packed family-friendly event to be enjoyed by all," Mr Tran said.

He said the night was run by the Fairfield City council and the Canley Heights Restaurant Committee.
