Mystery woman could hold key to Guildford child assaults

A woman who warned people about a man acting suspiciously on the day two young girls were sexually assaulted in a Sydney toilet block could hold the key to finding the attacker.

Police said witnesses have told them a woman warned them of a man she saw near the female toilets at Campbell Hill Pioneer Reserve at Guildford on January 9.

Later that same day, two sisters, aged two and six, were approached by a man who indecently and sexually assaulted them within the toilet block.

The offender remains on the run from police.

Detectives on Wednesday urged the woman who gave the warnings to come forward and share her information with police.

She has been described wearing a black headscarf, an olive and black calf-length cardigan, black pants and black and white sneakers.

The man police are looking for is described as having a tanned complexion, possibly of Middle Eastern or Mediterranean appearance, aged 20 to 30 years, of medium to skinny build with black hair.

At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black jacket with white marking and blue shorts.
