MITCHELL Williams compiled a fighting second innings century to save Fairfield Liverpool from outright defeat against Blacktown on Saturday.
With the Lions dismissed for just 53 the previous week, Blacktown declared at 4-219 with a 166-run lead to secure six first innings points.
In the second innings, Fairfield Liverpool made 250 with Williams hitting 101. In its second innings Blacktown was 1-3 at stumps.
This Saturday the Lions host UNSW in round three of the Sydney competition at Rosedale Oval at 10.30am.
Then on Sunday the Lions are holding the annual "Back to Rosedale Oval Day".
The Lions play Sydney in Twenty20 games with the Poidevin Gray Shield under-21s team playing at 10am with first grade game at 2.30pm.
