TWO men, both 27, have been charged with murder after a shooting in Villawood on Saturday afternoon.
One of the men, from Sadlier, was also charged with armed robbery in company with a weapon. He was refused bail and will appear at Parramatta Local Court on December 12.
The other man was arrested at a home in Villawood about 8.30pm on Monday and also charged with robbery while armed with a dangerous weapon.
He was refused bail and was due to appear in Fairfield Local Court yesterday.
Police were called to a shopping centre on Villawood Place after reports of a robbery about 3.40pm on Saturday.
On arrival, they found a 28-year-old male employee suffering a gunshot wound.
Despite efforts he could not be revived.
Police said two men entered the fruit store and threatened staff with a firearm and hammer.
As police were responding to reports, two male officers driving a sedan under lights and sirens were injured in a collision on Tangerine Street, Fairfield.
All three people involved were taken to Liverpool Hospital but have since been released.
One of the officers received treatment for bruising and soft tissue injury to his arm while the other suffered respiratory problems caused by the vehicle's airbag. The man driving the other vehicle suffered a concussion.
Police from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit attended the scene and conducted an examinations of the crash site.
