CARDINAL Stepinac Village at St Johns Park will be buzzing with activity on Thursday, October 10 as it hosts the area's annual Residential Aged Care Arts and Crafts Show.
The event will exhibit works made by about 200 residents living in aged-care facilities across the area.
This year 14 facilities will be represented.
They include Cabramatta's St Sergius Aged Care and the Croatian Australian Welfare Centre at St Johns Park.
Cardinal Stepinac Village chief executive Matt Smolcic said the event, which was organised by recreational activities officers working in aged-care facilities, was aimed at praising the efforts behind the work carried out by elderly residents.
"The purpose is to promote activity in daily lives of residents," he said.
"Many nursing home residents love to be active and to be appreciated.
"This event brings together residents and staff from various facilities and they spend a few hours with people of similar talents and purpose."
Exhibited art and craft works range from needlework to painting and woodwork to gardening.
The Residential Aged Care Arts and Crafts Show is on October 10 at the Cardinal Stepinac Village, 24-32 Runcorn Street, St Johns Park from 11.30am.
