CANCER has raised its ugly head in the lives of many close to Abbotsbury resident Stella Guerrero.
That's why she has decided to put her Zumba instructing skills to good use to raise money for Cancer Council Australia.
Mrs Guerrero will hold a Zumbathon at St Johns Park Bowling Club on Friday.
Mrs Guerrero's mum is in remission from breast cancer; but her best friend died from pancreatic cancer, another from lung cancer and another from cancer of the blood.
Mrs Guerrero, who has been instructing for four years, said there were are also people in her Zumba classes with cancer.
"It is very important for me to do something so we can end this horrible disease," she said.
She would like to see as many people as possible giving to the cause.
"I need as many people as possible to donate — they don't need to do Zumba," Mrs Guerrero said.
There will be a raffle after the class with vouchers and other prizes.
Five instructors will donate time for the 6.30pm-8.30pm Zumba class.
Entry is by donation.
"You can do as much or as little as you want," Mrs Guerrero said.
"Or just watch for fun."
