AUSTRALIAN rugby league great Terry Lamb (pictured left in blue) joined St Johns Park Bowling Club representatives recently to hand over a $15,000 cheque to Sylvanvale Disability Services.
The money was raised at a recent charity luncheon held at the club.
Hosted by Darryl Brohman, the luncheon was attended by Lamb and fellow league legends, Ricky Stuart, Eric Grothe and Steve Mortimer, as well as current Wests Tigers Keith Galloway and Marika Koroibete, women's lawn bowls champion Kelsey Cottrell and apprentice jockey Teagan Harrison.
Based in Kirrawee and with offices in St Marys and Currans Hill, Sylvanvale provides services for the disabled: housing, education, employment and early intervention.
It has a staff and volunteer base of more than 600, with teachers, therapists, community health professionals and child-care workers.
Sylvanvale interim CEO Alan Bish thanked the club for its support.
"This will allow us to expand our after-school-care services for primary school aged children with a disability," he said.
