The Battle of the West Cup is the brainchild of Parramatta District Junior Rugby League's executive officer Phil Cummins.
Cummings said talks began with Penrith and Districts Junior Rugby League executive several months ago to organise the competition.
"Penrith were very co-operative and it also gives the premiership-winning teams from both junior leagues the chance pit their skills against one another," Phil Cummings said.
"We want to make the Battle of the West Cup an annual event.
"Parramatta and Penrith are strong junior leagues and the west is the heartland of the game."
Cummings said Penrith junior league manager Yvonne Purtell had strongly endorsed the concept.
The winning teams in each age group will receive a trophy.
The junior league with the most victories over the weekend's two days of games will receive the Battle of the West Cup.
