POLICE stopped a blue Toyota which was being driven by a 40-year-old Canley Vale man at about 3.20pm on Saturday, September 14. The driver was breath tested and returned a negative result but it is alleged police saw a drug implement and several burnt pieces of foil in the car. Police searched the car and the man was given a Field Court Attendance Notice for possessing a drug implement. He is due to appear at Liverpool Local Court on October 30.
Police are appealing for information after three women allegedly forced their way into a Fairfield unit on Friday, September 13. Emergency services were called to a unit block in Kenyon Street, Fairfield at about 6pm after reports of the incident. They were told one woman had a knife. Inquiries are continuing.
An investigation has been launched into two incidents where petrol bombs were thrown at homes in Fairfield. It is alleged four offenders approached a home in Evans Street, Fairfield, at about 1am on Friday, September 13. A rock was thrown through a window near the front door and a petrol bomb thrown into the house. The blaze was quickly extinguished. In a second incident about 1.15am a petrol bomb was thrown onto the roof of a home in Pima Close, Greenfield Park. The bottle fell off the roof and onto the ground where it smashed and was extinguished. A second device was thrown through a window which did not catch alight.
