RAIMOND Coletta and Bruno Antelmi have both won selection in the School Sport Australia national under-19s team which will tour England next year.
Raimond, 17, is in year 12 at Bossley Park High School, and Bruno, 18, is a year 12 student at Cecil Hills High School.
Both have been friends through soccer for many years.
Raimond, of Mount Vernon, plays fullback for Marconi Stallions in the Youth League under-18s and Bruno, of Bonnyrigg Heights, is a midfielder with Blacktown City FC under-20s team this in the Football NSW competitions.
The teenagers have played with and against one another in soccer competitions over many years.
Last year they won a premiership together at Blacktown City FC under-18s.
‘‘We’re good mates,’’ Raimond Coletta said.
‘‘And it’s a big opportunity to make the Australian schools team.’’
Bruno said making the Australian under-19s team together is a great honour.
‘‘We’re looking forward to the tour which will be a great experience,’’ Bruno said.
Bruno said it’s terrific he and his mate, Raimond have made the team together.
He said playing against top players in their age group in England can only benefit.
The midfielder said his goal is to play first grade in the National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s 1 Elite competition in the near future.
‘‘Then one day I would like to play in the A-League,’’ Bruno said.
The duo were selected for the national under-19s team after representing the NSW Combined High Schools team recently in Canberra.
