SPRUIKING driver safety and responsible motoring are key components of an innovative program currently being offered to a group of students from Bossley Park High School.
Supported by Club Marconi, the Keys To Drive education program aims to arm young drivers with tools they will use throughout their lives.
Offered to year 11 students, the program runs for an hour every Monday of school terms and is free for students.
Seven students take part every term and are taught by a qualified, experienced driving instructor.
The instructor passes on fundamental driving skills and stresses the importance of road safety.
Year 12 student Monique Powney took part in the program last year.
"The instructor was very well prepared, easy-going and fun," she said. "I benefited heaps and I would definitely do it again."
Bianca Pomilio, also from year 12, said: "The experience was great. I learnt so much. It was so convenient and I feel so much safer on the roads now."
