TOP young netballer Olivia Rowntree has made the Australian Schools representative team.
The Cecil Hills teenager was selected for the national under-15s team after playing for NSW in the recent championships in Launceston.
The goalkeeper and goal defence player impressed the national selectors with her skill and talent.
Olivia, 15, also plays for the Liverpool City Netball Association 15 years team which recently won the state age titles at Minto. She captained the dynamic team to an emphatic titles victory.
Olivia's's coach at Cabra Vale Diggers club Jennie Webster said Olivia fully deserved her selection.
Webster is also a prominent LCNA representative coach.
"We all congratulate Olivia on her Australian team selection," a delighted Webster said.
The Australian team will play a Test match either next April or May in South Australia.
Proud mum Gayle said the venue in South Australia was yet to be confirmed.
Olivia said she was thrilled to be chosen for the Australian team.
And the unassuming netballer said the support of her parents, mum Gayle, and dad, Colonel Nicholas Rowntree, her sister, Georgia, and her coach Jennie Webster, was also an inspiration.
"Jennie has had a positive and significant influence on my netball," Olivia said.
In further good news, she has also been selected in the Sydney South West Sports Academy's 15 years' netball squad.
Olivia is a year 9 student at Westfields Sports High School.
