A recent visit to Taronga Zoo was about much more than checking out a bunch of cute and cuddly creatures for Canley Vale High School's Year 7 students.
The excursion was held in the lead up to Writing Day, where they would be asked to write a 30 minute persuasive composition based on the question: "should animals be kept in zoos".
While at Taronga, students were divided into groups and were given three hours to make their way around the historic park.
Along the way they witnessed an array of wildlife including giraffes, elephants, seals, pelicans, red pandas, tortoises, peacocks, bears, Komodo dragons, tigers, lions, roosters, koalas and kangaroos.
"It was a really fun experience going to the zoo with my friends," one of the students said. "This is definitely be a day I will never forget."
