THE dedication of St John's Ambulance officer James Chandler was recognised by Bonnyrigg High School students recently.
On August 9 Mr Chandler visited the school, under the impression he was to hand out awards to cadets.
Instead he was presented with a commemorative plaque to mark 3o years of service.
Also in attendance was Fowler MP Chris Hayes, the school's St John's cadets and their parents.
After the official presentation, all gathered for afternoon tea.
"It was extremely inspiring to see the dedication and passion James Chandler holds for St John and the fact that people as important as Chris Hayes supports it was amazing," said one of the cadets.
"It makes me want to go further into St John."
