Nervous finalists wait for judges to decide

WITH the nomination process for the 2013 Fairfield City Local Business Awards having run its course, there's a nervous wait to find out which businesses have made the final cut.

Finalists will be determined based on the number of nominations they have received from their customers.

Then the judging process will begin.

Finalists will be judged anonymously by a mystery shopper on fundamental business principles; providing the best customer service, business appearance, value for money and merchandising.

Each will also have the chance to submit extra information about the business, including customer testimonials.

The theme for the 2013 Local Business Awards is Everything About You.

It aims to recognise and celebrate the importance of the "you" in business — as exemplary business people, loyal customers and valuable community members.

The Fairfield City Local Business Awards presentation night at Club Marconi is on Wednesday, May 8.

The night is a well-deserved time in the spotlight for businesses, and will recognise the most outstanding local businesses in the Fairfield area.

All category winners will be named during the event.

The Fairfield City Local Business Awards are sponsored by Club Marconi. Support Sponsors include Fairfield City Council, Stockland Wetherill Park, Fairfield City Chamber of Commerce, Bonnyrigg Plaza, Fairfield Forum and Siena Italian Restaurant.

"Businesses with strong community links can be more resilient," said NSW Small Business Commissioner, Yasmin King.

"It's great to see the Local Business Awards showcasing the excellent customer service, vitality and support that small businesses bring to the local community."
