Lions out of finals

Fairfield Liverpool's first grade cricket team's semi-finals bid crashed when defeated by Sydney Uni at Rosedale Oval on Saturday. Needing to win to make the finals, the Lions made 7 (dec)-261. Sydney Uni replied with 3-263 to win by seven wickets. The Lions play Randwick Petersham in a one-dayer in the final round of the season this Saturday, at 10am.

Netball duo in nationals

Smithfield's Sophie Halpin, 19, is the vice-captain of the NSW under-21s team playing at the national championships in Canberra this week. Greenfield Park's Kristiana Manu'a, 17, is also in the state team.

Cabramatta kick-off
