Firearms offences
A 62-year-old Sadleir man was charged with firearms offences in Cabramatta last Wednesday. Police were called to a club in Cabramatta at 3pm after reports of a domestic dispute. Police later searched a house in Sadleir. Police said they found two unregistered .22 rifles and some ammunition. The man was arrested and charged with two counts of possessing an unregistered firearm, not keeping a firearm safely, possessing ammunition and intimidation offences. The man, who was also served an apprehended violence order, was granted conditional bail. He will appear before Bankstown Local Court tomorrow.
Drug possession
A Mount Pritchard woman, 40, will face court after being charged with possessing a prohibited drug, resisting a police officer, mid-range blood alcohol and unlicensed driving on Monday. Police said they stopped the woman, who was driving a Toyota, on Sulman Road in Cabramatta West at 2.25am. Police will allege they found cannabis after searching her property. She will appear before Bankstown Local Court on March 14.
Woman assaulted
Cabramatta police charged a 46-year-old man with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and common assault against a woman at a house in Canley Vale on Saturday. Although the woman didn't give a statement, police charged the man and imposed an apprehended violence order. He will face Bankstown Local Court on April 4.
