FAIRFIELD police have confirmed a dead body found in Fairfield Park on Thursday morning was that of a Fairfield City man.
Police said the 25-year-old Asian man had been living with his parents.
A resident found the body while walking through the park on Vine Street at 4.15am.
"Police believe we know who the man is but we are waiting to speak to the parents to formally identify the body," Superintendent Peter Lennon said.
He said the death was being treated as suspicious as multiple wounds were found on the man's upper body.
"We can't release any more information about the injuries until we get the results from the post-mortem examination," he said.
