Food and Entertainment Festival in Cabramatta

A smorgasbord of Asian cuisine was served up at Freedom Plaza in Cabramatta last Saturday.

The Multicultural Food and Entertainment Festival was the setting.

Co-ordinator and Thai chef Joshuwa Buachoom said the festival featured stalls of Asian food "not commonly found in Fairfield City".

These included Indonesian, Malaysian, Thai, Burmese and Nepalese cuisines.

"Food for us Asians communicates so much more about us than mere words," he said.

"Festivals such as these help us bring our own history and culture to the next generation through the celebration of food."

Mr Buachoom said about 500 people were there despite the wet weather.

There were also staged cultural performances.

Congregation members from the Jesus Family Centre Cabramatta organised the festival.
