Cricket Lions are roaring
Fairfield Liverpool Lions first grade cricket skipper Anthony Clark led the way in the team's 69-run victory over Sydney at Drummoyne Oval on Saturday. The Lions made 9-247 from their 50 overs with Clark top-scoring with 83. Then Clark took 2-11 with his off-spinners as Sydney were dismissed for 178.
Mounties clip Magpie wings
Mounties beat Wentworthville Magpies 30-20 in their opening NSW Cup rugby-league trial game on Saturday. Mounties' next trial is against Canberra Raiders at Cook Park, Mount Pritchard, this Saturday, at 6.30pm.
United defeat Mariners
Sydney United FC 58 beat Central Coast Mariners Academy 1-0 in the second round of the Football NSW Premier League Pre-Season Cup. In other games, Bonnyrigg White Eagles drew 1-1 with Rockdale Suns and Blacktown City beat Marconi Stallions, 3-1.
