OPPOSITION roads spokesman Ryan Park was in Polding Street, Fairfield West, yesterday to talk with Cabramatta MP Nick Lalich and Fairfield MP Guy Zangari about the state of the largest roundabout on the road and in the area.
Mr Park said he would be asking the Roads Minister questions and pushing for the NSW government to move ahead on a previous commitment. Mr Zangari said that in the lead-up to the last state election, the NSW government committed $3 million towards the upgrade of the roundabout.
The three Labor MPs spoke about the number of accidents at the site, and the need to have this road repaired as soon as possible.
Mr Park said it was one of the worst intersections he'd seen in terms of the number of entry and exit points without traffic lights or other traffic control.
"Here there are about eight points on a congested area with poor line of sight because of the pylons," he said.
Smithfield MP Andrew Rohan said the plans and design work were being done and the designs would be implemented in the new budget.
"These things take time," Mr Rohan said.
