Bulldogs recruit Williams aims for big 2013

POWERFUL Bulldogs recruit Tony Williams aims to repay the faith shown in him by coach Des Hasler at his new club this year.

The Australian international was coached by Hasler and played in Manly's 2011 grand final-winning team.

The Cabramatta Junior Rugby League Club junior grew up in Liverpool and has signed with the Bulldogs for the next four years.

Williams, 24, debuted in first grade with the Eels on the wing in 2008.

He switched to Manly in 2009 and has played twice for NSW as well as five Tests for Australia and 84 NRL games from stints with Parramatta (2008) and Manly (2009-12).

The Bulldogs' opening game of the 2013 season is against North Queensland at ANZ Stadium on Saturday, March 9.

The club has scheduled trials against NSW Cup team the Newtown Jets on Sunday, February 10, at Belmore Sportsground.

Grand finalists last year, the Bulldogs are expected to be among the top teams again this season.
