Graduates enjoy healthy life

MORE than 30 members of the free health and fitness program In shape received awards yesterday for completing it.

Held over 14 weeks, the Fairfield Council program teaches healthier lifestyle choices and includes walking, cycling and aqua aerobics.

Fairfield mayor Frank Carbone said it was a great way of making fitness, nutrition and lifestyle changes to suit busy schedules.

"Knowledge is power and the more we know about health and fitness the easier it is to incorporate it into our daily lives," he said.

The free program is offered in different languages throughout the year, and the Australian government funds it as part of the Healthy Communities Initiative.
