James fighting for his students

TO say Kevin James packs a punch in new flick Here Comes the Boom is an understatement.

Playing the role of 42-year-old former college wrestler and teacher Scott Voss, James decides to help save his school's music program by becoming a cage fighter.

As a teacher Voss is a slacker. He sits around reading the newspaper instead of actually teaching.

But that all changes when the school principal, played by Greg Germann, announces budget cuts to the school's music department, which will result in the scrapping of the music program.

As a result, band teacher Marty (Henry Winkler) will lose his job, leaving him unable to support his young family.

Unlike Voss, Marty loves his students and spends his spare time repairing instruments for students who can't afford them.

Voss's heart softens when he hears of the news and decides to take matters into his own hands to raise the $48,000 needed to keep the program afloat.

While working as a night instructor for a citizenship class Voss discovers there is big money to be made from cage style fighting.

He decides to try his luck in a mixed martial arts competition.

So does his character Voss save the day? You'll have to wait and see.
