MUCH is published about our poor hospitals and health care.
Governments, federal and state, may be sadly lacking but I cannot speak too highly of some of the doctors and staff of our medical institutions.
My daughter passed away recently after three and a half years battling cancer.
During that period she was treated at Westmead Private Hospital oncology unit Ward B, Braeside Hospital in Fairfield and Westmead Hospital.
The loving care she received from the doctors, nurses, office staff, volunteers and the palliative care service at these hospitals was without equal.
While we have people so dedicated there is still some hope for our ailing health services. May I thank them all once again.

Web of deceit
I have very real concerns about where Australian society is headed.
There is an element of Fairfield Council that thinks dictatorships, aspersions and threats against citizens, and using police against law-abiding persons, are acceptable.
How do I know? I have observed it.
Als o, contributors to the Champion's website have been using pseudonyms, ``false names''. The use of pseudonyms is a part of free speech and has served an important role over the centuries.
However, while people have the right to say things anonymously there must be bounds in the case of expressing falsehoods. Falsehoods and false names are not a good mix.
I have reason to believe that several Fairfield councillors are contributing to the website under pseudonyms for the purposes of self-aggrandisement. There are also falsehoods being perpetrated.
The use of your website is being compromised by persons who are using false names.
As I understand democracy there is one voice for each person. Why should I have just one voice while others have more than this?
Why ought a person like Bill Cashman, whom I have noted to be a well-intentioned and timely contributor on important issues, have only one voice while others have more and want to cause mischief by using false names?
And, no, I am not a member of any party to which Bill might belong. I am not a member of any party.
Councillors who are using the site for self-aggrandisement and the peddling of falsehoods should be named and shamed.
The precedent has been set in another land. Ought it not be exercised here?
