HARD work, dedication and self-belief have proven to be the perfect recipe for the Fairfield Colts under-12 football team, who were crowned as the Champions of Champions on Sunday.
The Colts won a tense final at Valentine Sports Park, Glenwood, defeating Nepean Association's Glossodia 6-5 on penalties after the match ended 1-1 after normal and extra time.
Premiership-winning coach Buddy Kassoumsaid he couldn't be prouder of the way his charges had come from a goal down to take the title.
``The boys just had a strong self-belief they could win and they never gave up,'' Kassoum said.
``They have only lost one game all year. It is amazing what a bit of dedication, hard work and belief can bring to a football team.''
The climb to the top of the football summit has been a long and winding one for the Colts.
League glory in August against Fairfield Hotspur (2-0), was followed by victories against Highlands (4-0), Granville (0-0, 4-3 penalties), Carss Park (2-1) and Unanderra (2-1) on the way to Sunday's decider.

The champion team: Stjepan Fuduric, Dominic Lilly, Joshua Hewett, Cody Franich, Stephen Adattini, Alessandro Tolomeo, Jordan Hall, Andrew Sifti, Jayden Taunton, Jamie Talevski, Daniel Lagudi and Joe Kosso.
