IF the Bring It On! Youth Festival is anything like what it was last year, then we are in for a treat.

On Sunday, April 13, thousands of youth from south-west Sydney will flock to Fairfield Showground for one of the biggest events on the Fairfield community calendar.

Free for people between the age of 12-25, the festival promises to provide non-stop entertainment, with bands, hip-hop artists and break dancers headlining the musical performaces.

Spearheading a list of talent is Australian Idol contestants Paulini and Joseph Gatehau, DJ Nino Brown, Israel and V Tribe.

The drug and alcohol free event will also offer basketball, skateboard and break-dancing competitions, art workshops, X-Treme car exhibition, amusement rides, short film screenings and a whole lot more.

This year’s Bring It On! Youth Festival marks the begining of a new era, as the event will have a green theme, with the site powered by green power and biodegradable plates used at food stalls.

Mayor Nick Lalich is encouraging young people from across Sydney to join in the festivities and ‘‘enjoy a really vibrant and energetic atmosphere’’.

Details: Fairfield Showground, Smithfield Road, Prairiewood, noon-7pm.
