Ms Cheung is offering a reward for any information that leads to the finding of Terror, who escaped on January 14.

Since then, Ms Cheung and her two sons, Jason and Darren, have failed to find her.

"I went to all the parks around here many times with seeds to try to attract her," she said. "I've been putting her blanket on the roof of our house for her to spot us and distributed posters around, but so far we've had no luck."

Ms Cheung, a welfare worker, said Terror is considered part of the family.

"I didn't realise her flying away would affect me so badly," she said.

"I feel like I've lost a child."

Ms Cheung said Terror used to fall asleep on her lap when she sang to her.

"She would also pick food from my plate at the dinner table and give it to our dog Pooki when I wasn't looking," Ms Cheung said.

Terror, who was named because of her "naughty" behaviour, has escaped twice before but Ms Cheung couldn't bear the thought of clipping her wings.

"It's a risk but that's the price we have to pay to keep her happy and free to fly around in the house," she said. The family is appealing for anyone who might have seen Terror or a flock of galahs to contact them.
