Rumble on rubbish

12/03/2008 11:07:57 AM
Cabramatta filmmakers were some of the many people who joined clean up crews around Fairfield on Clean Up Australia Day last Sunday.

Members of Rumble Pictures who last year filmed their clean up efforts as part of a documentary about the effects of littering on the environment, collected 13 bags of rubbish between Carramar and Canley Vale.

"We documented last year's Clean-up Australia Day and it helped boost our profile as a socially active group," Rumble Pictures founder Timothy Ly said.

Roxie Vuong, 18, of Carramar coordinated the film crew's volunteers on the day.

"There are so many distractions from what is really important in life for young people nowadays," the university student said.

"By doing this I hope that we can help educate other youths to stop being complacent about the true impact of waste on our environment and to do something about it."
