STUDY - a five-letter word that can take on many meanings. For some, it represents a time of solitude confined to the reading of a book. For others, it's a time of gathering to share ideas and thoughts with others.
But the only aspect of study which is similar to all is that everybody does it differently.
Year 12 students from Mary MacKillop College Wakeley are into the final months of preparation and over the past six years have developed their own methods of studying to suit their personality.
College principal Narelle Archer gave some advice to those sitting the HSC English exam.
``The students who get a variety of past questions, brainstorm ideas and plan the essay are the most successful,'' she said. ``This doesn't mean they should write out one speech and memorise it, because the students who do that don't have the flexibility to change their response.''
