When it comes to a candidate who has seen all sides of Cabramatta, Lindsay Langlands has a unique understanding of the area.
Living and working in the area for more than 30 years, Ms Langlands has not only worked with drug outreach programs but acted as an adviser on the 2005 film Little Fish, with Cate Blanchett, Sam Neill and Hugo Weaving.
''I haven't been parachuted into the area. I'm not doing this to further my own political career and I actually care about what happens to this community, unlike some of the other candidates,'' Ms Langlands said.
''I have the ability to do this job from a grassroots level. I am very keen to see Cabramatta issues overseen and managed by people who have experienced the issues first-hand.''
Ms Langlands ran as number two on the Greens ticket for Parks Ward in the Fairfield Council elections last month.
She has signalled unemployment will be a big focus of her campaign, as well as health concerns like gambling and drug use.
She will also aim to solve parking problems that have led Cabramatta to have one of the highest rates of parking fines accumulated in the state.
